What are the benefits of joining the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® program?
- It’s free to join – and there are no membership fees.
- As a member, skip the counter at select locations, pick your car and go. At return, just drop your keys and go.

Is there a minimum age for participation in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®?
The minimum age to join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® is 21. An additional fee may apply for those drivers under 25 who rent a vehicle. See the Under 25 Car Rental page here for more detail.
Will I be charged for having a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership after a year?
No. Your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership is completely free.
How do I redeem my reward?
To redeem points and reserve a car online, log in to hertz.com and make a reservation. Check the box that reads, “Use my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points.” If your itinerary qualifies for a reward, you’ll see your options on the “Review and Book” page. For further help, view these instructions. Please keep in mind, you will still be responsible for any taxes, fees and options associated with the rental.
Do I need an advanced reservation to redeem my rewards points?
Yes. A one-day advanced reservation is required for rental redemptions. We do not allow redemptions at the counter without making an advanced reservation online.
Where can I earn and redeem rewards points?
Earn and redeem Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Rentals in Switzerland will earn points, but members are unable to redeem rewards points there.
Will my rewards points be credited back to my account if I cancel my reservation?
If a reservation which was booked with rewards points is cancelled within 24 hours of booking, all points will be returned to the member’s account. If a reservation that was booked using points is cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time the following points will be forfeited: If a Gold member, 50% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Hertz Five Star® member, 25% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Hertz President’s Circle® member, all points will be returned to the member’s account. How do I earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points?
To start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points, you need to be a member. Participation is open to residents of the following countries:
- EUROPE: Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom
- NORTH AMERICA AND U.S. TERRITORIES: United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas
- CARIBBEAN: Anguilla, Aruba, Barbados, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, San Marino, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos

Do I earn rewards points on all my vehicle rentals?
To earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points automatically on all your qualified rentals, update your member profile:
- Log in at hertz.com
- At the top navigation bar, click on "My account," and then "My Profile."
- Click “Edit” under “Membership Details.” Then check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® box and click “Update.”
If reserving by phone, tell the Hertz representative you would like to start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points.
Can I earn rewards points on additional products and services added to my rental?
No. Points are earned on the base rental rate only which excludes taxes, fees, and additional products and services.
Do I need to wait for a Hertz representative as a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member when I return my vehicle?
At locations with Hertz e-returns, pull up to the designated Hertz drop off location, drop off your vehicle (leaving the keys in the cupholder) and go. Your receipt will be emailed to your email address listed on your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile.
Can I earn frequent flyer credits on Hertz vehicle rentals?
Earning frequent flyer credits vary by carrier. If Hertz is a partner in the frequent flyer program of the carrier you are flying, qualified rentals can earn program credits. Please review your program’s policies in our partnership section located in the bottom half of the hertz.com homepage. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program lets you earn points on each qualifying Hertz rental for business or leisure.
My Hertz Gold Plus Rewards number was not attached to my rental, can I still earn points on that rental?
Yes. As long as you request your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points within six months of the rental return and you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member at the time of the rental. To request retroactive credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points, log in to your member account on hertz.com. Then click “My Account,” followed by “Use My Points.” Click the “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.
How do I check the balance of my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points?
To check your point balance online, log in to your account on hertz.com. Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”
What if I’m missing Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points?
If you believe you are missing any rewards points, you can request a retroactive credit up to six months from the rental return as long as you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member at the time of the rental.To request retroactive credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points, log in to your member account on hertz.com. Then click “My Account,” followed by “Use My Points.” Click the “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.
Do my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points expire?
Points do not expire if you have a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points were either earned or redeemed on a rental. Making a reservation or points transfer to a partner company does not count as rental activity.
Do my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points have a cash value?
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points have no cash value. Points will expire after 12 months of no rental activity. If you cancel or terminate your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership, Hertz believes any of your rental activity to be fraudulent, or you are prohibited from future rentals with Hertz, Hertz will remove, and you will forfeit your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards balance without any alternate compensation.
What is the difference between AnyDay Rewards and Standard Rewards?
AnyDay Rewards are not subject to blackout periods and may be used during the busiest travel periods. Standard Rewards are available during all but the busiest travel periods and require fewer points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

Can I transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points?
You can transfer or receive Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points to or from any immediate family member who is also a Gold member, at most once per calendar year. Your immediate family member must have had at least one rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a GPR point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. You may be eligible to transfer points more than once per calendar year in the event of death or divorce (official documentation stating such will be required).
Please ensure the transfer is initiated/requested by the owner of the point balance. Requests made by the receiver of the current point balance will be declined. Transfers can only be made between Hertz Gold Plus Rewards accounts, and not for redemption toward an airline/hotel/AmTrak account.
Call the Rewards Desk at 1-888-999-4900 during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and ask for a transfer of points.
What if my spouse or domestic partner is not a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member?
Your spouse/domestic partner can enroll in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards for free via hertz.com. Once he or she is enrolled in the program, he or she must complete at least one rental. After the rental is complete, you may call the Hertz Awards Desk to transfer rewards points.
When will the rewards points show up in my spouse’s/domestic partner’s member account?
If both memberships are at least 72 hours old and have had at least one rental activity, transferred points are viewable on hertz.com within 24 hours of transfer. However, a Hertz representative will be able to see the transfer of points that same day and can apply the points to a future reservation.
How can I view my member account statements?
You can access your account statements online:
- Log in at hertz.com.
- Click "My Account" followed by "Rewards Account Activity."
- Here, you'll find your Gold Plus Rewards® points activity for the current month and the previous 24 months.

Are all vehicles included in Hertz Ultimate Choice®?
Access exclusive vehicles as a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member with Ultimate Choice at select locations. To take advantage of Ultimate Choice, you must reserve a mid-size vehicle or larger (economy and compact cars aren't included in the program). Learn more about Ultimate Choice here.
